Dr. Jennifer Guelfo's $1.6M Funded Project with Vanderbilt University and CSIRO

Dr. Guelfo's proposal has been selected for funding of $1.6 million over three years in collaboration with Vanderbilt University and CSIRO in Australia. The project will focus on assessing the leaching of PFAS from impacted concrete and asphalt due to the widespread use of aqueous film - forming foams (AFFF) in US Department of Defense (DOD) facilities. The project aims to understand the role of fundamental phenomena such as wetting and drying cycles, diffusion, percolation, and sorption through bench - scale, field - scale, and modeling efforts.
