Join the Texas Tech University chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) in their mission to support underrepresented students in STEM fields. Through community engagement and impactful volunteering initiatives, NSBE fosters academic success and cultivates a culture of empowerment and inclusivity. The Texas Tech University chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is a student-run group dedicated to supporting students in STEM fields, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. Beyond fostering academic success, NSBE actively engages in community initiatives, showcasing a strong commitment to making a positive impact.
Throughout this semester, NSBE has been involved in various volunteering endeavors, demonstrating their dedication to community service. Some notable activities include their semesterly Adopt a Highway event held on October 7th, promoting a sense of civic responsibility and local pride. On October 21st, NSBE partnered with different student engineering organizations for the Society of Womens Engineers (SWE) Catch The Engineering Bug event, aiming to introduce STEM to middle school girls.
Additionally, on November 4th, NSBE collaborated with TTU WCOE - STEM Outreach Program for the Lubbock BF FTC Robotics Meet, where NSBE members volunteered their time to assist high school students in constructing and evaluating their robots. The semester concluded on December 3rd with NSBE joining forces with West Texas Endurance during the Carol of Lights commemoration, showcasing their dedication to community engagement and involvement.
The primary aim of TTU NSBE is to provide its members with opportunities for both personal and collective growth. Looking ahead to the next semester, NSBE remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining a positive influence and continuing to contribute meaningfully to the community.
