As a Forman for the Operations Division, George has been instrumental in successful in significant maintenance projects. In particular, since 2012, the Water Side Economizer project has saved the University over $312,000 dollars in steam cost. More recently the DFT overhaul has increased its efficiency by 3%, saving the University over $11,000 monthly in energy and chemical consumption. George's leadership in effective maintenance management of plant equipment was a key factor in Texas Tech University's Operations Division being awarded the Award for Excellence in Facilities Management from the Association of Physical Plant Administrators.
