As the Unit Manager for Chemistry and Biochemistry, Linda oversees the business operations of one the strongest research departments at Texas Tech University, with a budget, including research grants and contracts, of between $5 - 7 million dollars annually. In addition, Linda took on the added responsibility of providing support for the department's scholarship award selection committee by keeping track of the funds available for each of the endowed scholarships and helping with the organization of the annual departmental banquet during which the scholarships were awarded. During the past year, Linda played a central role in an effort to advertise a need-based scholarship for incoming freshman students to high schools in West Texas. Linda's efforts have consistently led to positive outcomes not only for Texas Tech University, but for the many faculty and staff who interact with her daily.
