School of Law

The team from the School of Law consisting of:

  • Wendy-Adele Humphrey, Associate Dean (not pictured)
  • Danielle Saavedra, Assistant Dean
  • Donna Williams, Senior Admissions Counselor

This team worked together to re-vamp the law school's approach to recruitment and admissions. They significantly revised the view book and focused on promoting three main aspects of attending Texas Tech Law: Value, Advocacy, and Community. They also worked diligently to improve the relationship with the main campus Pre-Law Program and the Honors College. Additionally, they made new connections outside of the institution to improve the recruitment travel schedule. Internally, they started open communication with the Foundation office, the director of alumni relations, the faculty, and current students to enlist their help and input. In other words, the admissions team did everything they could to improve the Office of Admissions. And their amazing dedication and hard work paid off! The entering class of 2018 had improved credentials, including a two-point increase in the median LSAT score (which is an amazing accomplishment in only one year) and a 0.15 increase in the median GPA. The class also maintained our minority percentage and our male-female percentage. After recruiting such a wonderful first-year class, the team did not stop there. They have continued to innovate the recruitment and admissions process. For instance, during 2018-19 the team created a Women Empowering Women email campaign to highlight some of the impressive accomplishments of our women faculty, students, and alumnae. Additionally, they have increased their efforts to recruit a more diverse student body. They are willing to take on any project that helps promote the law school, the University, or the Lubbock community!
