COHS Students Anthony Inyang and John Benavides were two of the ten students selected across Texas Tech University

Pi2 was created to engage young minds so that they may know how research is conducted in their field of interest. Students must first apply for the program, and once accepted are divided into five different cohorts. During the first year, students meet once a week with their cohort for a lecture on research methods. The students earn one credit hour each semester for the lecture.

College of Human Sciences

As one of the four original colleges at Texas Tech University at its founding, the College of Human Sciences has a rich history investing in students, preparing them to make an impact on the world around them. The College of Human Sciences provides multidisciplinary education, research, and service focused on individuals, families, and their environments to improve and enhance the human condition. When they graduate, our students are making an impact as educators, health care professionals, financial planners, hospitality managers, fashion merchandisers, designers, counselors, and nutritionists. Faculty, staff, and students advance research concerning individual, social, and economic development in a multidisciplinary environment to benefit families and individuals in a diverse global community. Outreach is also provided to individuals, organizations, and communities to help improve the society in which we live.

Human Sciences Major

The interdisciplinary Human Sciences undergraduate major allows students to pursue a flexible degree specifically designed to meet their career goals. Students are able to combine multiple fields of interest into a highly marketable BS degree. The human sciences degree program gives students the opportunity to experience a wide range of learning experiences tailored to fit their passions and abilities. Nutritional Sciences

The Department of Nutritional Sciences endeavors to advance the field of nutritional sciences and equip individuals towards making a positive contribution to society as a whole through quality education, research, and service. The department's multi-dimensional approach to nutritional well-being includes innovative research, hands-on training of the next generation nutritionists and dietitians, and community nutrition outreach.
