Game Day Parking

For home football games, Commuter North lots must be entirely cleared by 7 a.m. on game day. Towing will be enforced to clear the areas. Parking and tailgating in the Commuter North parking lots will be controlled by Red Raider Club gameday parking permits.   

The parking area north of the green space, marked in green on the map below, must be cleared by 7 a.m. the Friday before each home game. The western portion of C1, marked in red, must be cleared by 5:30 p.m. the Friday before each home game. Towing will be enforced. 

For home football games, Commuter North lots must be cleared by 7 a.m. on game day. Towing will be enforced to clear the areas. Parking and tailgating in the Commuter North parking lots will be controlled by Red Raider Club gameday parking permits.   

Commuter North Residence Hall permit holders have three parking options for game day weekends:  

• Flint Avenue Parking Facility on the southeast corner of Flint Avenue and 18th Street. You may park here from 5:30 p.m. Friday before each home game through 7:30 a.m. Monday. Avoid the individually reserved spaces on the east side of the first floor; these are marked with individual signs that state “Reserved for Permit #____”  

• R25 (the Student Health Services lot) and Z6 (Carpenter/Wells/Murray lots). You may park here from 5:30 p.m. Friday before each home game through 7:30 a.m. Monday. A parking attendant may be present to confirm that you have a valid ePermit.  

• The westernmost portion of C4 in Commuter North. This portion is open parking on a first-come, first-served basis but becomes inaccessible three hours before kickoff due to game-day traffic control.   

Please make sure to move back from these locations to Commuter North by 7:30 a.m. Monday to avoid receiving a citation. If you park in any area other than the ones specified above, your vehicle may be towed.  

Commuter West Residence Hall permit holders may remain in Commuter West during game day weekend. Our employees will scan the lot and be able to identify your permitted vehicle. If you park in any other lot on campus, your vehicle may be towed.  

Parking and tailgating in the Commuter West parking lots will be controlled by Red Raider Club gameday parking permits.   

For home football game and RaiderGate parking, R03 must be cleared by 7 a.m. on game day if you do not have a RaiderGate pass. Towing will be enforced to clear the areas. Parking and tailgating in R03 will be controlled on game day by RaiderGate officials.   

Parking will be available in R13 Visitor, R01, R20, and the Flint Avenue Parking Facility for on-duty Texas Tech employees with a valid Reserved or Area Reserved permit. You must use a vehicle registered to your My Parking Account.  

Please avoid parking in 24-hour reserved spaces and, for safety reasons, in bus stops, on end caps, in service spaces, in fire lanes, in areas that are not designated spaces, or areas not bordered on three sides by lines, curbs, bumpers or other barriers.   

For home football games, Transportation & Parking staff will control the entrances to the Z1 parking lot on game day from 7 a.m. until 30 minutes after kickoff.   

Because of the proximity of the Z1 lot to the stadium, staff members may be scanning plates to ensure only Z1 residents enter the lot.  

If you park in any area other than the Z1 lot, your vehicle may be towed. If possible, we will contact the vehicle’s owner before towing. You may check your contact information by logging into your My Parking Account.  

Also, please avoid parking in the areas on Main Street behind West Hall and Sneed Hall. These areas become emergency and first-responder vehicle parking on game days and need to remain clear for your safety.   

For home football games, Transportation & Parking staff will control the entrances to the Z6 (Carpenter/Wells/Murray) parking lots on game days from 7 a.m. until 30 minutes after kickoff. If you park in any area other than your permitted lot, your vehicle may be towed. 

Flint Traffic Flow Changes 

Traffic routes on Flint Avenue will change to accommodate game-day traffic and parking. The west entrance will be closed to prevent unpermitted vehicles from parking in this lot. Police will take over traffic control beginning three hours before kickoff.  

Lot Entrances Changes 

From 7 a.m. until four hours prior to kickoff, residents may enter the lot via the north entrance off Flint Avenue. When kickoff is less than four hours away, residents may enter the lot through R25 (the Student Wellness Center lot) off Main Street.  

Please avoid parking on the street, unapproved areas or unmarked spaces (areas not bordered on three sides by lines, curbs, bumpers or other barriers). In an emergency situation, first responders use these areas to render aid. 

Raider Park Residence Hall permit holders have two parking options for home football games:  

• You may remain parked in the Raider Park Garage. If you remain in the garage, please be aware that before and after the game, access may be delayed due to game day traffic flowing in and out of the garage. Please plan to give yourself plenty of extra time.  

• You may park in your Residence Hall parking lot beginning Friday at 5:30 p.m. until Monday at 7:30 a.m.  

For home football games, the northern two lots of Commuter Satellite, as shown on the map below, must be cleared by 6 p.m. the Thursday before each home game. The rest of Commuter Satellite must be cleared by 5:30 p.m. Friday. Towing will be enforced to clear the areas.  

The northern two lots will be coned off beginning Thursday evening, and the northern entrance and exit to the lot will be limited to an exit only.  

Remember, a Commuter Satellite ePermit allows you to park in any commuter lot weekdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Please note that Commuter North and Commuter West must be cleared by 7 a.m. the day of each home game. Towing is enforced to clear these areas. 

Parking and tailgating in the Commuter Satellite parking lots will be controlled by Red Raider Club game-day parking permits.

On weekdays of both Red Raider and Lady Raider games, lots near the arena and west of Indiana Avenue become donor parking three hours prior to tip-off.

R30 is only affected on men’s basketball game days. One entrance/exit to your lot will be blocked for game-day operations. Because of traffic control, you will need to enter via Knoxville Avenue at Texas Tech Parkway and access your lot by going south on Joliet Avenue. You can exit your lot via Joliet Avenue or 18th Street (Refer to the map below).

Commuter West transitions to donor parking three hours prior to tip-off for all basketball games held Monday through Friday. Vehicles must be removed from Commuter West by that time. If you are in class, you may relocate your vehicle immediately after your class ends. Commuter North will be available for your use. 
After 5:30 p.m., Commuter West permit holders may park for free in “Area Reserved” spaces located in the interior of campus. Please avoid any spaces marked “24-Hour Reserved” or “Reserved Until 11 p.m.”

Transportation & Parking will begin controlling the lot three hours prior to tip-off for all men's and women’s basketball home games throughout the season.

If you need to enter or exit R21 during the affected times, please use the Hartford Avenue entrance.

Be sure to have your L sticker affixed to your windshield, and a parking lot attendant will allow you to proceed to the south portion of the lot. Due to large basketball crowds, make sure to allow plenty of time if leaving or arriving at the law school within an hour of tip-off.

Parking attendants will begin controlling your lot three hours prior to tip-off for each game.

Please move your vehicle from R37 to C11 by the time the parking attendants begin lot control

Beginning three hours prior to tip-off for each basketball game, the 18th Street entrance to Z4 will be blocked off. During this time, please use the Hartford Avenue entrance to enter or exit the lot.
