Ann Mastergeorge serves as Associate Vice Provost for Outreach & Engagement. She joined the Outreach & Engagement team as a Faculty Fellow in 2024. Mastergeorge has worked with the Texas Tech Center at Junction to create hybrid courses for Texas Tech faculty to teach at the Junction campus and launch the Engaged Scholars and Practitioner Network.  

Dr. Mastergeorge is a Rockwell Endowed Professor in Human Development and Family Sciences was senior director for Engaged Scholarship Initiatives in the College of Health and Human Sciences. She has expertise in early developmental trajectories and is a developmental scholar who studies health disparities, the impact of poverty on developmental outcomes, and prevention and early intervention strategies and outcomes for young children at risk for autism. She has published numerous papers in substantive areas related to early social communication, joint attention, and the impact of parenting on developmental outcomes for young children.  

Her research centers on engaged scholarship in early childhood development, with a focus on social and joint attention, autism prevention and early indicators, parent-child interventions, and factors influencing at-risk development and resilience. Many of her research projects focus on partnering in communities, with and collaborations across disciplines to examine both biological and behavioral underpinnings of developmental trajectories.
