Dr. Matt Gregory has more than 25 years of experience in and around higher education and is the Dean of Students & Vice Provost for Student Life.

In this role, he supports the university's student-facing offices, including: the office of student conduct, student counseling center, student government association, risk intervention and safety education, students of concern, and the behavioral intervention team. Additionally, he oversees student involvement, spirit program, fraternity and sorority life, military and veteran programs, student disability services, and student legal services.

Gregory earned a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from Southern Illinois University (2009), a master's degree in Education - Counseling and Student Affairs from Western Kentucky University (1997), and a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Southern Illinois University (1995).

Previously, he was the associate dean of Students at Louisiana State University where he had oversight of student conduct and students of concern. Gregory has worked in a variety of areas in higher education including housing and residence life, Greek life, student conduct, campus law enforcement, and students of concern.

Gregory has taught courses in both graduate and undergraduate degree programs and currently teaches an introduction to women and gender studies course. He is also a certified Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) instructor at Texas Tech.

Outside of his employment, Gregory serves as a director on the national governing board of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, is an affiliated consultant with the TNG higher education risk management firm, and is a past president of the Association for Student Conduct Administration.
