A Political Science graduate of Texas Tech University and a graduate of Stanford Law School, Paul Ruiz is a director in the Office for Faculty Success.  Paul has been at Tech since January 2010, having worked in the Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for 13 years. Prior to that, Paul practiced Administrative Law in Austin, Texas for 21 years at the Clark, Thomas & Winters law firm, where he chaired the firm's Hiring Committee and the Diversity Committee.  Paul's professional responsibilities include helping recruit and hire new faculty to Texas Tech. Paul also teaches two academic courses, IS 1100 RaiderReady and HRDV 2303, “Diversity & Cultural Competence in the Workplace.”

Originally from Big Spring, Texas, Paul is a licensed attorney in the state of Texas and is a member of the Hispanic Issues Section and the LGBTQ Section of the State Bar of Texas.  At Tech, Paul serves as an Advisor for the Hispanic Student Society, the Omega Delta Phi Multicultural Fraternity, and Saddle Tramps.
