Dean Searches
As the chief academic and administrative office for a college at Texas Tech University, the dean reports to the Provost and is responsible for providing overall leadership for faculty, staff, students and operations of the college. Additionally, the dean plays a critical role in enhancing student learning and in advancing research enterprise of TTU.
Our dean search process follows four basic phases:
- Responsibility overview and committee charge
- Development of position description, timeline and candidate outreach
- Candidate selection and interviews
- Hiring and announcement
Our overarching priority is to look for a leader who can continue to enhance the state and national reputation of our colleges whose skills and values reflect the mission of Texas Tech University. To this end, we will establish an inclusive search committee that represents a wide array of those impacted by the hire and will respect the governance process of the search committee.
Interim candidates are welcome to apply via the established channels through which all other candidates apply. All search committee members are expected to adhere to the confidentiality agreements they signed.
The Provost's involvement during the search process will be to charge the committee and interview candidates, accept a final recommendation from the search committee.
