On behalf of Texas Tech University leadership, I am sharing the following message with the campus community, which was sent a short time ago by Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell:

Late Monday afternoon (June 10, 2024), Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec experienced a medical emergency and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. He is currently in stable condition and in good spirits.

Our entire Texas Tech University System is keeping President Schovanec and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

I am working closely with University leadership and will continue to provide updates as they become available.
