Service

Service is one way Red Raiders can connect with the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities while developing leadership skills and making a meaningful impact. Student Involvement provides opportunities for students, student organizations, faculty and staff to participate in service throughout the academic year.

Stop & Serve

Student Involvement hosts Stop & Serve events once a month throughout the academic year. These events provide students, faculty and staff with an easy way to volunteer and support organizations on campus and throughout the Lubbock community.

Activities vary by event and have included assembling winter care kits, making pet toys, creating kindness rocks and completing other hands-on service projects. Participation can count toward community service hours based on the amount of time spent volunteering.

CANstruction Competition

CANstruction is an annual spring service competition benefiting Raider Red's Food Pantry. Teams collect canned and nonperishable food items and use them to create structures before the items are donated to the food pantry.

Teams may include student organizations, fraternities and sororities, residence halls, faculty and staff or a combination of members from across the Texas Tech community.

Raider Red's Food Pantry provides food and other resources to Texas Tech students experiencing food insecurity.

Service Through Student Organizations

Registered student organizations provide additional opportunities to serve Texas Tech and the greater Lubbock community. Students interested in making service part of their campus experience can explore organizations focused on community service, advocacy, mentoring and other forms of engagement.
