Precision Agriculture and Remote Sensing

 

Position Description:

The Crop Ecophysiology and Precision Agriculture Lab at Texas Tech University (TTU) is seeking applications for a Graduate Research Assistant position with research focus on precision agriculture. We conduct exciting research in precision water and nutrient management using advanced technologies, such as remote sensing, machine learning, high-throughput plant phenotyping to investigate the factors contributing to the sustainability of agricultural systems, including spatial and temporal variability of plant growth and soil properties, crop stresses, and crop productivity. The GRA is expected to produce project reports, present research findings in conferences, and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (or expected graduation with MS in next 12 months) in agronomy, crop science, soil science, crop physiology, or environmental science
  • Background and experience in remote sensing and image analysis are highly preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an international, interdisciplinary team
