Interested in growing grapes and making wine?
Viticulture and enology — or the application of biology, chemistry, and technology to commercial grape growing and wine production — is an established strength at Texas Tech University. Over the years, we have built a range of practical, hands-on programs and courses taught at our own vineyards, teaching labs, and online.
For those seeking a comprehensive university education, we offer a Bachelor of Science in Plant and Soil Science with a concentration in Viticulture and Enology. Students with a deeper interest in research and the scientific aspects of viticulture and enology can pursue a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degree in Plant and Soil Science.
Professional certificate programs in viticulture, winemaking, and wine business award continuing education units and are designed for non-traditional students seeking to develop additional job skills, advance their careers, or make a career change.

Student Reviews
"Great program. When I started, I was a full-time electrician. By the time I finished,
I had opened a tasting room, planted a vineyard and was making wine for our own label."
