Plant & Soil Science Departmental Scholarships
Texas Tech uses a centralized scholarship process, allowing students to apply for department-specific, college-level, and university-wide opportunities all in one place. Scholarships are available based on interests, achievements, and need.
For current students, this looks a little different than it used to: now simply log in to the Scholarship Universe system and answer a series of questions to be matched with a customized list of internal and external scholarship opportunities.
Application Deadlines
Most Texas Tech scholarships are open October 1 – February 1, but external scholarship deadlines vary year-round. Log in to Scholarship Universe early and often to explore new opportunities and stay ahead of upcoming deadlines.
FAFSA
Be sure to complete the FAFSA online if you want to be considered for need-based scholarships. Students do not have to fill out the FAFSA to get a scholarship, but they are encouraged to in order to maximize their scholarship opportunities. Most merit-based and major-specific scholarships don't require it, but if a student also wishes to compete for need-based scholarships, the FAFSA is required.
Plant and Soil Science scholarships are available for all graduate students within the department. The deadline to apply is February 1st of each year. Newly admitted graduate students may apply after this deadline, just contact Diann Merriman for more information.
