Mindfulness and Art

Bonsai is a form of living art in horticulture that retains a trees growth to a miniature form and small container through pruning and training. The art of bonsai can be conducted on all types of woody plants.

Bonsai take time and require mindfulness in each cut and bend that is made to a tree and its limbs. Be prepared for a relaxing lifelong commitment if you take up the art of bonsai.

What comes in the Bonsai Kit?

• One woody shrub (Texas Sage, Common Boxwood, or Yaupon Holly)
• Wire cutters
• Pruners
• Bonsai container
• 7 pieces of wire
• Media
• Pebbles
• Chopsticks 
• Instructions with before and after care
• Links to a video setup and research surveys

We please ask that the participants who conduct the kits and fill out the surveys be Lubbock based or surrounding area military members. There is not a shipping option. Civilians are welcome to purchase kits for military members or make a donation to purchasing more kits.
