Monty Christian has a broad background in agriculture and science-based technologies, with a heritage rooted in farming and animal production. Over the course of nearly 40 years, he has built a distinguished career in commercial agricultural life science companies, including Rhone-Poulenc, Aventis, Bayer Crop Science, and BASF. He held senior executive positions at both Bayer and BASF, where he was responsible for multimillion-dollar financial targets, strategic planning, marketing campaigns, downstream market demand creation, agronomic services, and field seed production, processing, and quality. His experience includes leading dynamic national and global teams and working extensively in global crop production and technologies. He is a Founding Partner of Ag World Advisors, LLC, and joined the Office of Research & Innovation at Texas Tech University in 2021. In his current role, Monty collaborates with faculty on strategic planning, contributing innovative ideas, constructive feedback, and new perspectives to research programs. He leverages his industry networks to build relationships and support, while also providing mentoring on commercialization pathways for new agricultural ideas and technologies.
