Mike Murphy, a lifelong Lubbock resident, built a distinguished career in the farm machinery industry. After graduating from Monterey High School, he earned degrees from South Plains College and Texas Tech University, majoring in Agriculture. He spent a decade mastering the industry before becoming a partner, then assistant manager, and eventually the owner of Western Implement Inc. in Lubbock.

Murphy also held leadership roles as chairman of Westmont Church and the Kubota Tractor USA Dealer Council, later serving as National Chairman for Kubota Tractor in Osaka, Japan. Beyond agriculture, he and his wife owned a beauty salon and later managed rental properties in retirement. His contributions to business and community leadership continue to leave a lasting impact.
