Taysha Williams Champions Entrepreneurship Across Texas

The managing director of the Innovation Hub champions entrepreneurship and innovation throughout Texas.

The Texas University Network for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TUNIE) selected Taysha Williams, Managing Director of Texas Tech University'sInnovation Hub at Research Park, as its next Executive Director. This prestigious role showcases Williams' dedication to enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship not only by continuing to serve the Innovation Hub, but by stepping into her new role with TUNIE.

“I am honored to serve TUNIE as the next executive director,” Williams said. “I look forward to working with the talented individuals within the network to further enhance the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across our great state. Together, we will create opportunities for students, faculty and the broader community to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of technology and innovation.”

TUNIE was formed in 2008 with the mission to encourage and support collaboration, networking and promotional activities of Texas colleges and universities involved in entrepreneurship. Williams will work with the TUNIE board of directors to carry out the following initiatives:  

  • Support the technology commercialization programs carried on by members of TUNIE which include more than 20 Texas universities and colleges.
  • Promote collaboration among Texas entrepreneurship programs by sharing information, resources, programs and best practices.
  • Increase public academic institutions and government awareness of the scope of university-supported innovation, entrepreneurial activity and contributions to economic development.
  • Create an annual conference for members at a host university.  

“Taysha's enthusiasm and leadership have been vital for the growth and success of innovation and entrepreneurship at Texas Tech,” said Vice President for Research and Innovation Joseph A. Heppert. “I'm confident she will have similar impact in her added role as part of the visionary leadership team of TUNIE. I believe Taysha's drive and creativity will foster the continued success of this valued, multi-institutional Texas innovation network.”
