2024 Presidents' Innovative Startup Awardees

The Presidents of TTU and TTUHSC award $100,000 to six companies for their outstanding innovations and strides in commercialization.

The Texas Tech Innovation Hub proudly announced the recipients of its prestigious 2024 Presidents' Innovative Startup Awards on September 27, 2024. This esteemed award celebrates startups poised for significant growth and positioned to make a lasting economic impact on West Texas.

Through the Presidents' Innovative Startup Awards, the leaders of Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) champion these emerging companies by providing critical funding for workspace, equipment, and the development of their products or services.

This year, the President of Texas Tech University and the TTUHSC President both awarded $50,000 to three promising startups for a total of $100,000 in grant funding. The 2024 awardees and their innovative startups are:

Texas Tech University Awardees:

Nami Diagnostics | $25,000 award

Nami Diagnostics focuses on early detection of life-threatening conditions (e.g. sepsis and breast cancer). The startup will utilize the funds from the award to build out their lab space at the Innovation Hub.

Rahm Sensor Development | $15,000 award

Rahm Sensor Development focuses on a non-contact, zero-touch approach for vital sign monitor using doppler radar tech. Transforming healthcare with patented sensor technology by creating advanced non-contact monitoring technology to help healthcare providers make more informed decisions. Rahm Sensor Development will utilize the awarded funds to purchase lab equipment for their space at the Innovation Hub.

Moveris Media, LLC | $10,000 award

Moveris fills a gap in advertising research resources to help brands and agencies understand how customers are relating to their messaging. The startup will use the funds to compete the first round of beta-testing for their prototype.

Texas Tech University Health Science Center Awardees:

MelodiaSync | $20,000 award

MelodiaSync is an innovative software that facilitates relaxation by providing real-time, personalized beat responses while listening to audio.

Jessia Blume, CEO of MelodiaSync

Medical Information Simulations | $15,000 award

Medical Information Simulations is developing a web application LIS simulator to provide career readiness and improve training for medical laboratory scientists in the area of laboratory information technology. The award’s funds will empower Medical Information Simulations to hire computer scientists to develop their web application and market their product/service through trade shows and conferences.

Esperanza Therapeutics, Inc. | $15,000 award

Esperanza Therapeutics, Inc. leverages the unique strengths of medical experts to operationalize an AI-powered platform for drug discovery, development, and validation of in vitro efficacy for new and optimized compounds. With the funds provided by the award, Esperanza Therapeutics will purchase the equipment necessary for developing her product.
