About Me
Howard Rodriguez‑Mori, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Librarian at the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine and the One Health Graduate Program. With more than 30 years of experience in library and information services, he has served as both a librarian and a faculty member at several R1 institutions. He holds masters degrees in Information Studies and Communication, and his doctoral research examined the information‑seeking behavior and communication patterns of individuals relocating to distant and unfamiliar places.
Dr. Rodriguez‑Mori has served as a librarian since 1994 and, from 2003 onward, has taught in Library and Information Science programs at the University of Denver, Simmons University, and the College of Information and Communication at Florida State University. In 2020, he joined Texas Tech University to design, develop, and direct the library and information services program for the newly established School of Veterinary Medicine.
In his current role, he provides comprehensive library services, teaches a graduate course on the foundations of medical research, and co‑teaches sessions on evidence‑based medicine. He also serves on doctoral committees and collaborates with graduate students on research projects. His recent work focuses on developing validated, practical methods for integrating Artificial Intelligence tools into evidence synthesis and other research workflows. He recently completed a certificate‑based course on AI in Healthcare through Harvard Medical School, further enhancing his expertise in the responsible implementation of AI in biomedical and clinical research.
