Holistic Health

Our DVM students have access to on-site counseling services provided by Dr. Kelly Williams, a licensed psychologist and Sabina Farmer, a licensed counselor. Dr. Williams also provides curricular instruction on building mental health, wellness, and resilience. Our clinical year students also receive access to counseling support services through virtual or in-person sessions with our counselor and psychologist who is licensed in Texas and surrounding states.
TTU students are also provided free access to Telus an app including mental health resources such as self-assessments for anxiety and depression, as well as phone or chat sessions that can be initiated at any time.
Students are required to have health insurance and may access mental health counseling through their provider. Students can do video sessions with the TTU Student Counseling Center, or if in Lubbock, can do an in-person visit.
We have a Holistic Health Committee comprised of students representing multiple cohorts, a faculty advisor, and the student services coordinator. Our Holistic Health Committee works to plan activities that address emotional, intellectual, spiritual, financial, physical, social, environmental, and occupational facets of wellness. We also have a wellness room that is created to facilitate relaxation and stress management.
