Lauren Watson, an anatomic pathology resident at Texas Tech University

About Me

Lauren Watson is a resident in veterinary anatomic pathology. She grew up in Oakdale, California before attending the University of California, Davis for undergraduate and veterinary school. She then completed her Masters degrees at Middlebury College and the University of Florida online while working in small animal general practice in Massachusetts and Vermont.

Instruction

Lauren’s primary interests are anatomic pathology and veterinary forensics.

Research

Lauren’s research foundation is in ecology and evolutionary biology. Current and future projects focus on anatomic pathology and forensic pathology.

Other aspects of her research are related to the epidemiology and pathogenesis of zoonotic protozoan parasites such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Toxoplasma and many vector-borne parasites.

Service

Lauren served as a volunteer and manager for the Mercer Veterinary Clinic for the Pets of the Homeless in Sacramento, California (2017-2025).
