About Me

Milena Souza grew up in a small town in southeastern Brazil, where she spent her days riding horses and attending local rodeos. She pursued her passion for animals by attending veterinary school from 2008 to 2014. After earning her degree in Brazil, she moved to Texas to complete an internship at Weems and Stephens Equine Hospital. She has a strong interest in various aspects of equine medicine, especially emergency care and anesthesia. After dedicating seven years to private practice, she moved to the Texas Panhandle to join the faculty at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Instruction

Her teaching responsibilities primarily center on equine clinical and professional skills.

Service

Dr. Souza enjoys volunteering at local shelters, where she performs routine surgeries.
