Texas Tech University's Therapeutic Riding Center was named the Chisholm Challenge Champion Center for 2016 at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. The center was chosen out of 13 therapeutic riding centers for excellence in teamwork, sportsmanship, presentation of hospitality stalls, care and maintenance of horse stalls, and several other areas of expertise.

The Donald Ashdown Endowed scholarship was established by former students, friends and colleagues of Donald Ashdown in 1982 in recognition of his long-term commitment to teaching entomology. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students interested in entomology, based on scholarship, leadership skills, and financial need.

The Clyde, Brian and Virginia Butler Endowed Scholarship was established by Mr. Clyde R. Butler, with matching funds by Atlantic Richfield (ARGO Foundation) in 1991. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in agronomy or horticulture, with a consideration to the recipient's financial need.
