Student Telecounselor

Student Telecounselors assist the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in recruiting freshmen and transfer students. The program consists of a group of current students who call and email prospective students. The Student Telecounseling staff is trained on sharing their experiences as Texas Tech students and answering questions concerning the university and the Lubbock community. The staff is required to work 12-20 hours a week. The program operates Sundays through Thursday evenings.

College Recruiter

The college recruiter works to provide prospective students and families with information about the academic college, including facility tours, during the twice daily academic information sessions. These students are also expected to be present at on-campus recruitment events.

Marketing Student Assistant/Intern

Under the supervision of the marketing staff, these students work to provide the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with social media content, digital analytics, marketing materials, web content maintenance, data entry and market research. Occasional duties include giving campus tours and assisting with on-campus events. The students should be creative, possess strong communication skills and is experienced with creative software.

Processing Student Assistant

The primary responsibilities of these students include assisting potential students and their families by phone and email while processing, scanning and indexing incoming admissions documents. Strong communication, multi-tasking and attention to detail are critical for this position. Most shifts fall between 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday, with no night or weekend work required. Students can work a maximum of 20 hours per week, with opportunities for more hours when available during summer terms. Students must work a minimum of 15 hours per week but 20 hours is strongly preferred.

Recruitment Student Assistant

This position assists in various recruitment efforts through freshman and transfer admissions, as well as the operational side. These students assist the different managers and admissions counselors with their recruitment efforts, through data entry, phone calls, reports and organizational tasks.

International Recruitment Student Assistant

Student will assist International Undergraduate Admissions in recruiting first time and transfer international students. Student will assist with answering questions concerning the University and Lubbock via phone, email, and WhatsApp. Student will also process, scan, and index incoming admissions documentation. Student must work a minimum of 15 hours per week, but 20 hours is strongly preferred. Most shifts fall between 8am and 5pm Monday-Friday, with no night or weekend work required.)

Tour Guide

These students lead campus tours for prospective students and families providing accurate and pertinent information about Texas Tech. Tour guides greet guests to West Hall and assist the Visitors Center staff in preparing for on-campus recruitment events. Tour guides are energetic, comfortable in front of crowds, great public speakers and are willing to contribute to the Visitors Center however they are needed.

Visitors Center Student Assistant

The Visitors Center student assistants are a critical part of the Visitors Center team. The students are expected to provide excellent customer service to visitors and are responsible for greeting guests to West Hall. They provide guidance and directions, assist with daily campus tour operations, answer phones, and assist the Visitors Center team with on-campus recruitment events. These students are courteous, helpful, polite, energetic and willing to contribute to the Visitors Center however they are needed.
