Compass Program

Compass Program | TTU

The Compass Program is designed to introduce academically gifted, intellectually curious, mature, and responsible high school students to the college curriculum at Texas Tech University. Selected high school candidates will be invited to enroll in Texas Tech courses and to engage with college-level coursework, to be mentored by TTU faculty, and to experience the university while still enrolled in high school.

  • There will be a limit of one class per semester and the student must earn a grade of C or better before being considered for renewal. Pre-requisites for each course must be met before enrollment in TTU courses.
  • Compass Program students may not enroll in remedial (zero-level) coursework offered by colleges and universities that are designed to remediate high school deficiencies.
  • In special cases of evidenced extraordinarily high academic, intellectual, or artistic achievement, some Compass Program students may be invited to enroll in Honors sections of courses. These decisions will be reserved for the dean of the Honors College.
