Why Texas Tech?

I chose Texas Tech because I fell in love with it. The school itself is gorgeous, the atmosphere here was contagious and the people were beyond nice. It only made me feel more accepted and at home.

Tech Testimony

In the summer before my senior year, I visited Texas Tech for a tour on a whim. I didn't know much about it and hadn't even really though Tech was the place to go, but I visited anyways. Soon after the tour, I was starstruck. I was shocked how beautiful it was and even more so when I found out how much of a good school it was. I applied the following year, and another year later, here I am. I've visited friends at other colleges such as Baylor and TAMU, and it just isn't the same without my red and black. I am so grateful I decided to come visit because it led me to where I am today.

Most Memorable Experience

Among all the things here at Texas Tech that I remember, the one that stood out the most to me was attending my first basketball game. I'm not one for basketball, but when I went with friends, it was none like any other. I was engaged during the entire game and we won with seconds to spare, leading to our section rushing the court. It was the best experience I've had yet.

Opportunities

Along with becoming a telecounselor, I am a member of Miller Girls which is a service organization solely focused on giving back to the community. Other organizations I associate myself with, HOSA and Bernard Harris Pre-Med Society, has allowed me other great opportunities to excel in college.

Words of Wisdom

Come into college with a positive, can-do attitude. It not only reflects yourself as a person, but also through your school work. Another thing I would say is don't be afraid to get out there and get involved. College may seem intimidating at first, but once your settled in and find your organization or group you feel at ease with, it only goes uphill from there.
