Why Texas Tech?

I had many schools to choose from, but Texas Tech was the only school where I felt like they wanted me to attend. When I came for my campus tour, they all treated me like a friend and like I could contribute to the school.

Tech Testimony

You will never feel more at home then you will at Texas Tech. Every person I've met has been so friendly. There are many ways to get yourself involved in the campus and build your new family. The faculty and staff members are helpful and show that they want you to succeed. The campus is always in motion and thriving. Being a student here has just been one great experience after the other.

Most Memorable Experience

During my freshman year, we beat 5 West Virginia 49-14. The following year, the men's basketball team beat 19 OSU 65-61. I was able to rush the field and court. I know the announcers always say to stay in the stands, but you can't miss the chance to be in the middle of the celebration. I got to stand right beside Tubby Smith during his speech!

Opportunities

Texas Tech has plenty of student organizations available for students to choose from. I have definitely tried my hand at many of them. All of them offer great opportunities to help you gain experience in your field of study and the city of Lubbock.

Words of Wisdom

If you don't apply, you'll never know. Just because you don't meet automatic admissions doesn't mean you aren't a candidate. Never doubt yourself. Once enrolled, don't delay any of the things you need to do in order to become an official student. When we say to reserve your room, do it. The good spots fill up fast. Even if you don't know if you are coming to Tech, still do the things that are required of you. It's easier to cancel then to get the last spots anywhere.
