Why Texas Tech?
I knew I wanted to transfer to Texas Tech the second I first arrived in Lubbock. Every student I met was kind and had such a passion for the school; I knew immediately that this was my true home.
Tech Testimony
While looking into colleges in high school I thought I wanted to go to a small school where I wouldn't be just a number and thought that since Texas Tech was big that would be just the case. On my orientation day I met with my advisor in the Geosciences department in the SUB with a group of other students. I walked up to introduced myself and she already knew who I was! This further showed me how Texas Tech actually cares about their students. It really is one big family.
Most Memorable Experience
After getting through the 1000 level courses in the Geosciences department you are able to take classes where you get hands on experience. My most memorable experience here at Texas Tech was being able to travel to New Mexico and camp out (yes, in tents) and learn about the earth while experiencing nature with classmates.
Opportunities
If there is something you've always wanted to do or try, Texas Tech can help! Tech has tons of clubs and organizations. I am apart of Greek life as well as some geology associations. There really is something for everyone!
Words of Wisdom
DO NOT be afraid to try new things. You never know what might come of them! It may be awkward or scary but frankly life is awkward and scary so just embrace it and have fun with it.
