Why Texas Tech?
At first I was unsure about attending Texas Tech, but my friend who was already enrolled here kept telling me how wonderful it is. During my visit, I fell in love with the beauty and layout of the campus; everyone was so nice, friendly, and helpful. After my visit, I was convinced that Texas Tech was where I belonged.
Tech Testimony
I was a transfer student from Baylor University and Baylor was good, but being over here at Texas Tech is great! Being such a large community, there is a group for everyone here! I have been able to find my family away from home at Texas Tech! The Lubbock area is the best of both worlds; if you want some of the big city feel-you got it! If you still want that small town feel –you got it! Wreck 'em Tech!
Most Memorable Experience
My sisters (Alpha Omega Epsilon) and I volunteered at a W.I.S.E (Women In Science Endeavors) event where we had the opportunity to talk a large group of middle school girls from the surrounding area. We discussed developing an interest in science and the importance of going to college. It was amazing the response we got from so many of the young girls!
Opportunities
The Learning Center has been a good place to get tutoring help as well as academic counseling from a learning specialist. When school got overwhelming, the Student Counseling Center was also a good place for when you just need someone to talk to.
Words of Wisdom
There are so many opportunities offered at Texas Tech; take advantage of them. There are so many people available to help you achieve whatever academic and leadership goals you desire. There are over 400 student organizations on campus and these will help you grow, meet people, and become a member of something bigger than yourself. If you give it your all here, you will reap high rewards. The sky's the limit!
