Why Texas Tech?

From the moment I came to Tech I noticed the down to earth environment and kindness of everyone here. Like most high school students, college can be intimidating and nerve racking, but after visiting Tech, I realized it didn't have to be.

Tech Testimony

I attended a campus tour February of my senior year with my mom and younger sister. No one in my family had ever gone to Tech so I wanted to come down and see what it was all about. Being from a bigger city I was a little worried since I've always heard that there is nothing to do in Lubbock, but after visiting I realized that was not the case. After starting classes in the Fall, I noticed my academics looking better than ever before. Without the help of the professors and my classmates I wouldn't have been able to say that I made the Dean's List. The school spirit and Texas Tech bond is always present and I couldn't be more proud to say I Am A Red Raider.

Most Memorable Experience

As cliché as this may sound, my most memorable experience would definitely be the day I got a bid for my sorority, Pi Beta Phi. Participating in recruitment was the best decision I could have made for myself to start off my college career. The instant bond and joy I had with this group of girls was one of the best gifts I could have ever received and I have Texas Tech to thank for that.

Opportunities

Aside from Greek life, I have been given the opportunity to get involved in multiple organizations within my college of Media and Communication. I am a Media Strategies major which allows me to focus on advertising, public relations, and journalism. The professors provide countless opportunities for internships, study abroad, and send weekly emails with current job openings. Have all of these resources at my fingertips brings me a great amount of comfort.

Words of Wisdom

Take in every college experience as a memory or a learning experience. Enjoy every minute because it flies by so quickly. College is a time for finding yourself so remember to have continuous patience because you will find the right path for you with hard work and dedication.
