Intern Spotlight: Stephen May

Name: Stephen May
Intern Office: U.S. House Committee on Agriculture
Semester: Summer 2018
Major: Agriculture & Applied Economics
Classification: Senior
Hometown: Sweetwater, Texas
My Experience: My experiences in D.C. let me have the best summer of my life. Learning how to quickly adapt, soaking up information, the friendships made and the opportunities that are given are just a few of the things that made this experience one I will always remember.
Why Go: You have the opportunity to learn as much as you want from your co-workers, other interns and friends. You make lifelong friends whom you get to learn and grow with.
Any Advice: Dont be afraid to be social, everyone there is very helpful and want to see you succeed.
Favorite Part: Being able to work in the House Agriculture Committee in such an important time. I had the opportunity to help them work on the Farm Bill and knowing that I could contribute even a little was very rewarding.
Looking Ahead: I will be graduating in December 2018, where I plan to further help farmers and ranchers in Agriculture in any way that I can. I hope that one day I can return to Washington D.C. and help farmers through agriculture legislation.
