Event Reservations

The Dairy Barn is available for reservation by Texas Tech University faculty and staff, as well as outside organizations, including businesses and companies. Our spaces can accommodate a variety of events, including annual meetings and gatherings, conferences, organizational meetings, and other special events.

Dairy Barn Spaces

Dairy Barn loft second floor

Loft (2nd Floor)

The second-floor loft event space can accommodate 72 guests at 60” round tables (8 guests per table). We also have options available that include cocktail tables (up to 10), with or without barstools (up to 20). We can accommodate 80 guests’ theater style. This space also includes a built-in wet bar and buffet line. Includes a sound system, 84” TV presentation screen, microphone, and podium.

Please be aware that in the hotter months (May-September) the upstairs Loft gets warm and might not have the capacity to fully cool down.

Dairy Barn first floor studio space

Multi-Purpose Studios (1st Floor)

The multi-purpose studio space on the ground floor features up to six partitioned sections. Each section can seat up to 8 guests or 55 people total at rectangle tables. Partition walls include dry erase boards and the room includes a projector and projector screen. This space is ideal for workshops, group work, or small meetings.

Dairy Barn courtyard

Courtyard

The Dairy Barn Courtyard (east patio & southeast lawn) is included with any reservation of the Multi-Purpose Studios (1st Floor). Any event held outdoors is required to have a reservation inside the Dairy Barn.

Event Reservations

Because space is limited, reservations must be made at least six weeks in advance. Reservations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. The Dairy Barn accepts reservations for events between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Events held outside of these hours (including weekends) will be subject to an after-hours fee.

We ask that your reservation includes the time needed for set-up and tear-down. Please review the Rental Agreement  below for information on what is permitted in the Dairy Barn.

Events and activities planned on the east courtyard/patio and/or southeast lawn of the Dairy Barn require a reservation with signed contract and calendar confirmation from the Dairy Barn. All university policies must be followed, including OP 61.02 - Use of University Grounds, Facilities, and Amplification Equipment. Reservations must be made prior to Grounds Use approval.

Dairy Barn Reservation Form

Dairy Barn Contracting & Rental Agreement

Once your event is approved, we will email the primary contact with a contract and rental agreement form. The contract will confirm the time, location, and set-up of the event.

Any modifications, changes, or cancellations must be made at least 5 business days prior to the event. A fee of $50 will incur if a reservation is changed or cancelled less than 5 business days prior to the event.

Customers are prohibited from moving any furniture. Please disclose any changes that need to be made to the facilities coordinator. If furniture is moved without authorization, damage fees will be applied.

The Dairy Barn reserves the right to charge additional cleaning fees for any event where excessive cleaning is required. The customer will receive immediate notification of any additional charges.

The Texas Tech Dairy Barn and the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources are not responsible for lost, stolen, or missing items.

The renting customer is responsible for any damages caused by any vendor or guest. Guests are welcome to customize and decorate the facilities within our guidelines. We do expect normal wear and tear during an event, however, charges of at least $50 will apply if the following situations occur:

  • Damage to walls, furniture, curtains, fixtures, accessories, plants, flooring coverings, etc.
  • Use of dyes, glitter, confetti, etc.
  • Tape, nails, or tacks in walls, fixtures, molding, or any other piece of property on the grounds
  • Unauthorized movement of furniture
  • Other damages or theft of Texas Tech Dairy Barn property
  • Smoke or fire damage from candle or sparkler usage
  • Use of fog machine, sparklers, or other items that have the potential to set off a false fire alarm

Items that are NOT permitted at Dairy Barn events:

  • Dye, glitter, confetti, paint, chalk, etc. on the interior or exterior of the building
  • Tape, nails, tacks are not to be used to hang banners or signs anywhere in the interior or exterior of the building. Please ask the facility manager if arrangements need to be made to hang a banner. Sign holders are available upon request.
  • Open flame candles, wax candles, and luminaires are strictly prohibited. Please use flameless or electric candles.
  • Smoke machines, foggers, sparklers, and fireworks are prohibited
  • Smoking in the building or within 25 feet of the building is strictly prohibited. Texas Tech University is a tobacco-free campus. Smoking and other use of tobacco is prohibited, including chewing tobacco, smokeless tobacco, and electronic cigarettes.
  • No tables, chairs, tents, vehicles, etc. are permitted on the bricked areas of the outdoor spaces, with special care taken for the engraved bricks.
  • Weapons and firearms are prohibited in the Dairy Barn or on its grounds.

The Dairy Barn does not provide parking for events. Customers must arrange parking with Texas Tech Transportation & Parking Services.

TTU Transportation & Parking Services

The Dairy Barn does not provide catering or linen service. Priority catering is provided through Top Tier.
