CASNR students can take advantage of faculty-led summer study abroad classes

Studying in another country can provide transformative experiences, and can even make you a more informed global citizen. Plus, there's the opportunity for creating lifelong memories. If you're a student in Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources there's some innovative programs coming up at the end of the spring semester.
Among the faculty-led CASNR programs coming up in summer 2020 are:
• Agricultural Tour of China. (May 15-30, 2020) Locations: Beijing, Harbin, Qingdao and Shanghai. Field of Study: Agribusiness and Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources. Information: Chenggang Wang & Olga Murova. Minimum Classification/GPA: Sophomore/2.5. Deadline: Feb. 1, 2020
• Agriculture Economics in Sabah, Malaysia. (May 15-June 1, 2020) Location: Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Field of Study: Agricultural & Applied Economics, Ecology and Natural Resources Management. Information: Michael Farmer. Minimum Classification/GPA: Sophomore/2.5. Deadline: March 2, 2020
• Futures & Options at the TTU Center in Sevilla. (Summer 1) Location: TTU Center in Sevilla, Spain. Field of Study: Agricultural & Applied Economics. Faculty Leader: Shaikh Mahfuzar Rahman. Minimum Classification/GPA: Sophomore/2.5. Deadline: March 2, 2020

• Spanish Wine & Tourism in Sevilla, Spain. (May 18-31, 2020) Location: TTU Center in Sevilla, Spain. Field of Study: Plant & Soil Sciences. Faculty Leader: Ed Hellman. Minimum Classification/GPA: Sophomore/2.5. Deadline: March 2, 2020
• Wildlife & Veterinary Issues in Africa. (June 1-30, 2020) Location: Johannesburg, South Africa. Field of Study: Animal Science. Faculty Leader: Nathan Hall. Minimum Classification/GPA: Sophomore/2.5. Deadline: March 2, 2020 7
Students enroll in catalog courses, pay Texas Tech tuition and fees, and an additional program fee to participate in these programs, said Cindy Akers, CASNR's Associate Dean for Academic and Student Programs. The program fee often covers room, board, excursions, and professor expenses; what the program fee includes depends on the program. Airfare is usually an additional cost, depending on the program.
