Texas Tech’s Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources will host its 64th Annual Homecoming Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Student Union Building’s Red Raider Ballroom. The gathering, which begins at 8 a.m., has been a fixture of the college’s calendar.

What began as a rather basic event has evolved into a reunion that draws alumni, students, faculty and friends from across generations. This year’s program includes the introduction of the first-ever ‘Davis College 30 Under 30’ cohort, the presentation of the inaugural ‘Davis College Legacy Family Award,’ and special welcome of anniversary classes from 2015, 2000, 1975 and 1950.

The ‘30 Under 30’ program, recognizes a distinguished group of young alumni whose achievements and leadership are shaping the future of agriculture, science, business, and community engagement. The honorees were selected for their outstanding academic accomplishments, professional excellence, and contributions to their respective fields, said Sandra Addo, Davis College’s Assistant Director for Career Pathways. The group will be honored February 2026 with a professional development conference and award ceremony. For a list of the class members, please click here.

“The Homecoming Breakfast has always been about more than a meal,” said Clint Krehbiel, dean of Davis College. “It’s a chance for the community to come together, celebrate the college’s traditions and support the next generation of students.”

The ‘Legacy Family Award’ recognizes a family, spanning at least three generations and/or multiple family branches of Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources graduate, that has substantially benefited from and continues to advocate for Davis College and Texas Tech University, and who are making meaningful contributions to the fields of agriculture, landscapes, and natural resources.

“2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the first day of classes for Texas Tech, and Davis College is celebrating all semester long as one of the Founding Colleges,” said Tracee Murph, Davis College’s Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and College Events. “There couldn’t be a better year for us to launch our Legacy Family Award. I am very excited to honor this family and the history of our college, and I look forward to continuing this new tradition each year at Homecoming.”

Admission to the breakfast is free, though a $25 donation is encouraged to help offset costs. Parking will be available in lots R01 and R09 at 15th Street and Detroit Avenue, with golf cart shuttles provided. In addition to the meal, the breakfast will feature student clubs and organizations and opportunities to purchase Davis College merchandise.

Special anniversary reprints of the book, Fifty Years of Service to West Texas Agriculture: A History of Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences, 1925-1975, will also be for sale. A limited number of copies have been made available to help celebrate the Founding Colleges’ Centennial.

The celebration will continue later in the day with a joint tailgate alongside Capital Farm Credit at Jones AT&T Stadium, opening three hours before kickoff with the Kansas Jayhawks. The gathering, at lot C1, space 1049, will feature food, drinks and live entertainment. Admission is free.
