Outreach & Engagement Training
As faculty members, we are encouraged to participate in outreach and engagement activities, but we often dont receive training to do so. This series of modules is designed to help you get started by providing practical strategies, frameworks, and examples.
Youll learn how to design impactful programs, build sustainable partnerships, and integrate outreach into your teaching and research in ways that benefit both the university and the communities we serve.
Module 1: Introduction
What is outreach? What is engagement? Whats the difference, why are they important and why should a faculty member participate? This short series of modules will introduce the concepts.
Module 2: Branding and Storytelling
In todays academic landscape, your professional identity extends beyond the classroom and research lab. Personal branding and storytelling are essential to amplify impact, connect with various audiences, and showcase expertise. This module will guide you through the process of defining your unique brand, crafting a compelling brand statement, and leveraging digital platforms such as LinkedIn and personal websites to share your story. By the end of this module, youll have practical strategies to present yourself authentically and strategically to build a professional presence that opens doors for collaboration, leadership, and engagement.
