CHEM 1307 Assessment Results
Interpreting your Chemistry Placement Exam score:
If you score 21-35 correct out of the 35 questions (60-100%), you may enroll in CHEM 1307. You also have the option to take CHEM 1301, if you
wish to review at this level in advance of taking CHEM 1307. Other options for review
are as follows:
- CHEM 1101 – General Chemistry Bridge Course (offered during Intersession prior to regular Fall/Spring terms)
- ALEKS* assessment tools
If you score 15-20 correct out of the 35 questions (43-57%), enrollment in CHEM 1307 requires one of the following:
- Completion of CHEM 1101 General Chemistry Bridge Course (offered during Intersession prior to regular Fall/Spring terms) with passing performance on the course homework and final examination.
- Completion of the ALEKS* assessment at the 95% content mastery level. The ALEKS assessment must be finished before the start of the term to apply for CHEM 1307 registration.
- Completion of CHEM 1301 Preparatory Chemistry with a grade of C- or better.
If you score 0-14 correct out of the 35 questions (0-40%), enrollment in CHEM 1307 requires one of the following:
- Completion of the ALEKS* assessment at the 95% content mastery level. The ALEKS assessment must be finished before the start of the term to apply for CHEM 1307 registration.
- Completion of CHEM 1301 Preparatory Chemistry with a grade of C- or better.
