Dr. Yanlin Wang has more than 20 years of Chinese language teaching experience at the universities in both China and US. She created the Chinese Language and Area Studies, a concentration of the Bachelor Degree, at Texas Tech University. Besides serving as the director and coordinator of Chinese language program, she is also the committee members of Language for Specific Purposes and Undergraduate Programs in CMLL and the committee member of the Asian Study Program at TTU. She received a SIG Award (Special Interest Groups) from CLTA (Chinese Language Teachers Association, USA) in 2019 for the healthy and sustainable development of Chinese program. In 2021, she was awarded the A&S Teaching Innovation Award at Texas Tech University. In 2020, she was invited to speak at a roundtable discussion about the language program development during COVID-19 held by the Asian Section of the American Association of University Supervisors, Coordinators and Directors of Language Programs (AAUSC). Her research and publications addresses various issues of computer-assisted Chinese language learning, e.g. online language anxiety, motivation and self-efficacy, computer-mediated communication, Chinese character acquisition, hybrid Chinese courses design, etc.
