Meet The Staff

Torres
Frank Torres – IT specialist

Hola a todos! I am the new IT Support for CMLL as of July 2022. I am very excited to be here, and although I am being presented with a lot of challenges (please be patient with me), I am very happy to be part of the CMLL family.

Get to know me.

I was born in Monterrey, NL Mexico and moved to the USA at age 17. I have been taking computer courses since age 13 and have received about 6 certifications. All about computers, some very boring stuff that I enjoy.

I take pride in my work; I enjoy helping others and have been in this line of work for well over 20 years. I am still learning; I am also a part-time student here at TTU working on getting a bachelor's degree. I have 3 kids who take most of my time at home, one of them was born in June 2022, another in Feb 2019, and the oldest from July 2009. I relax when I can watch movies with the family, but I love fishing although all I ever catch is colds. I always say, “without you, there would not be me… so Thank you”.

Hernandez
Geazul Hernandez, M.A. Spanish, Retires

Geazul Hernandez retired at the end of November as the Helpdesk Coordinator in the CMLL Learning Language Lab.  Before working full-time in the department, she earned a BA in Spanish in 2008 from Texas Tech.  While working full-time, she earned a master's in Romance Languages-Spanish in 2014.  She exuberated enthusiasm for students who are studying languages.

For 17 years, Geazul brought her warmth and cheery smile to Texas Tech and CMLL. She welcomed and served everyone graciously that entered the lab. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and to help with events, even on the weekends!  Even though she will be greatly missed by everyone who worked with her, CMLL wishes her the best in her retirement and future endeavors.
