Lamecca Abduljaami

Lamecca Abduljaami is the Assistant Director of Behavior Services at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. She has been employed with LbSSLC for 11 years. She graduated from Texas Tech University, with an M.Ed. in 2000. Outside of work, she enjoys reading mystery books, attending football and basketball games, and traveling.

Holly Borel

Holly Borel

Holly Borel, Chief Executive Officer of Spindletop, holds a Master of Business Administration degree with undergraduate degree in psychology. She has served almost 35 years in the Community Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities system across Southeast Texas and the Rio Grande Valley, and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Spindletop Center in Beaumont, TX.

During her tenure in community mental health, Borel has had oversight of mental health, substance use and intellectual and developmental disability programs serving an average of more than 10,000 individuals monthly.

In addition, Borel has surveyed for CARF International, Inc., accrediting organizations in the provision of behavioral health, substance abuse, integrated care and rehabilitation services.

Joanna Burnett

Joanna Burnett

Joanna Burnett is the Assistant Executive Director at Summerhouse Houston. She oversees new member recruitment, fundraising, and Summerhouse's Supported Employment program. Joanna received her Master's in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin and is passionate about administration and legislative advocacy for programs serving adults with IDD.

Nekeisha Coates

 

Nekeisha Coates has been in the IDD field for the past 18 years. Nekisha has a Master's Degree in Business Administration and is currently a Supervisor of the Waiver Auditor Department as well as overseeing IDD Records.

Megan Copeland

Megan Copeland

Megan Copeland is an Occupational Therapist who received her Master's in Occupational Therapy at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in December 2006. Megan has worked at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center for over 10 years, working mostly with the medically fragile population. Her specialties are in feeding/dysphagia, specialized positioning and wheelchair fabrication. She also has experience with geriatric population, pediatric home health and supervising other therapists. She has assisted with various local facility committees and has provided training state wide and lectures at conferences through the Department of Aging and Disabilities Services and Health and Human Services. Megan also speaks to OT students annually about the role of an Occupational Therapist in the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. She is a mother of two, a 6-year-old spunky little boy that keeps her on her toys and a 9-year-old bright little actress and singer. She is also the proud wife of gamer husband who is a teacher at Frenship High School and took his Esports team to the state championship in his first year of coaching!

Angela Crutchfield

Angela Crutchfield

Angela Crutchfield is the Program Director at Summerhouse Houston, she has been with the organization since its inception in 2012. Angela is a strong believer in people with disabilities having the right to independence, choice, and support of their choosing. Outside of work, Angela and her husband, Jon, enjoy spending time caring for their 9-month-old daughter, Camryn.

Barry Hamilton

Barry Hamilton

Barry Hamilton, LCSW began his professional career supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) more than 18 years ago as a volunteer with a small non-profit in Washington, Texas. During Barry's career, he has worked as a direct support professional, case manager, crisis worker, and program director in a wide range of settings. Barry has provided professional consultation to families, licensed residential providers, direct support professionals, state institutions and community based interdisciplinary teams.

Barry received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University at College Station, and his Masters in the Science of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. Barry has received specialized training and is recognized as having expertise in the behavioral health needs of individuals with IDD. Lastly, Barry has presented on a variety of topics at national and local professional conferences, supporting a movement toward mental health wellness for those with IDD.

Kelly Jeanveau

Kelly Jeanveau

Kelly Jeanveau is the Human Rights Officer at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center. She has a great deal of passion serving people with disabilities, which is why she protects the rights of Individuals with Disabilities on a daily basis. She is also known for her love of animals, which you can see when she talks about her own rescue dog, a handsome Blue Heeler.

Bria Long

Bria Long is a Program Associate at Summerhouse Houston. She moved to Houston from Pennsylvania about 6 years ago. Her loves include her dog, Astro, sushi, and traveling.

Brooke Magers

Brooke Magers

Brooke Magers is a Program Associate at Summerhouse Houston. In addition to her responsibilities in the program, she also manages their business enterprise, Shred for Independence. When not at work, Brooke can be found hanging out with her goldendoodle, Hudson, playing soccer, or hanging out with her family.

Jim Rodriguez

Jim Rodriguez

In May 2011, Jim was hired at the Denton State Supported Living Center as Assistant Director of Administration which involved overseeing the finance, budget, purchasing, maintenance, housekeeping, training, and other support services. In July 2015, Jim transferred to the Lubbock State Supported Living Center in the same capacity as ADoA. While Jim doesn't always deal directly with clients, he enjoys working with them and working for them. "I believe that true service is serving someone who cannot fully appreciate or understand what you are doing for them. Such service comes directly from the heart of the person who serves and is not based on what's in it for them."

Victoria Huerta Rodriguez

Victoria Huerta Rodriguez

Victoria Huerta Rodriguez is the Associate Director for the Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (NCMHID) located in Corpus Christi, Texas. NCMHID is the local Mental Health and Intellectual Development Disabilities Authority and one of 39 Centers in Texas. She has been with the Center for 16 years and has worked in various capacities including case management, therapist, clinical director and program manager. Victoria has an MA in Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. Her strengths include operational oversight and client advocacy to work together for better lives.

Ericka Turner has been a Service Coordinator Supervisor (Case Manager IV) for 2 years she transitioned from a LIDDA Service Coordinator and has been with Spindletop Center since 2014. Graduating in 2007 from Lamar Institute of Technology with an Associate of Applied Science in Child Care and Development, Lamar University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and in 2013 with a Master of Education in Educational Technology Leadership. Ericka Turner lives in Beaumont, Texas.

Heather K. Trevino

Heather K. Trevino is the Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority Director at Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities located in Corpus Christi, TX. Heather has a MA in Psychology from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Over the 7 years she has worked with Nueces Center, Heather has provided support to adults and children with IDD throughout the Corpus Christi community. Heather has gained an understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with IDD, as well as knowledge of the programs and services available in Texas to meet those needs. Heather believes that every person deserves to be given the opportunity to live meaningful, connected, and productive lives, regardless of their diagnosis.

Monica Zoch

Monica Zoch is the Associate Director of IDD Provider Services. She has a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and will be completing her Master's of Social Work degree in August 2020 from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has worked at Spindletop for more than 15 years in various roles and looks forward to continuing in the field for many years to come.

Cathy Terrill

Cathy Ficker Terrill

Cathy Ficker Terrill, MS, has recently been appointed the Executive Director of Wheels for Humanity, a nonprofit that provides wheelchairs to people with disabilities in 70 countries. Previously, she was the court monitor for the Oregon Department of Justice settlement agreement on employment, Lane v. Brown. In this capacity, she designed quality metrics for statewide implementation. Ms. Terrill was the CEO of the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), an international nonprofit that measures quality outcomes in long-term care for people with disabilities and elder care. Her career has included working in leadership positions in government, non-profit organizations, university teaching, advocacy, and supporting and mentoring self-advocates. Before joining CQL, she was the CEO of The Institute on Public Policy for People with Disabilities, an organization dedicated to providing leadership and technical assistance to drive public policy and promote best practices for individuals with disabilities. She is a past Bureau Chief for the Illinois Department of Public Aid Bureau of Long-Term Care, where she was responsible for all of the elderly and disability long-term care beds and a staff of hundreds of nurses. In this capacity, she designed seven different Medicaid waivers and new quality metrics for long-term care.

Previously, Ms. Terrill served as CEO of the Ray Graham Association, where she used the CQL Personal Outcome Measures® to reinvent a provider agency to become a more community-based, person-centered organization. She was the Past President of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD), as well as a former President of Illinois TASH. She has authored a manual on Consent Issues for Self-Advocates and Direct-Care Staff. She is a past two-term White House Appointee to the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities (PCPID). For the past 30 years, Ms. Terrill has volunteered internationally, helping to create services and define quality metrics for people with disabilities in South Korea, Kosovo, Poland, Russia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Japan, Saudi Arabia and China.

Bill Gaventa

Bill Gaventa is an ordained Baptist minister currently serving as the Director of the Summer Institute on Theology and Disability and the national Collaborative on Faith and Disability. . Bill's pastoral career has been in a variety of roles at the intersections of faith and disability, including community supports with people with disabilities, training for clergy, seminarians and community services staff, aging and end of life/grief issues in intellectual and developmental disabilities, cultural competence, and community building. He is the author of Disability and Spirituality: Recovering Wholeness, published by Baylor University Press in the spring of 2018, editor of a number of other books, and author of articles. He served as the President of American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for 2016-2017.

Lynne Seagle

Lynne Seagle, MPA is the Executive Director of Hope House Foundation in Norfolk, Virginia. Lynne began her career at Hope House Foundation in 1978 as the Director of Residential Services and has been the organization's Executive Director for more than three decades. Under Lynne's leadership, Hope House has become internationally known for its innovative, person-centered approach. Lynne is a member of the Arc of Virginia's Board of Directors and has served on the President's Commission on Intellectual Disabilities and is on the Advisory Board of the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation. Lynne is one of the country's leading consultants on supported living services and organizational development, consulting widely throughout the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and Asia. Lynne consults internationally on the topics of organizational and leadership development, strategic planning, and team building. Lynne is passionate about social justice and equality for all people, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Jesse Smathers

 

Jesse Smathers, MSW, LCSW, Community Relations Regional Director for Vaya Health, is an established and forward-thinking expert in home and community-based services for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). He has held various positions in the behavioral health field ranging from direct care to organizational leadership. In addition to almost 25 years of experience working to improve services for persons with IDD, Jesse has multi-year experience working as a mental health and substance use disorder counselor in outpatient treatment programs specializing in medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. He is passionate about encouraging positive change at both the individual and systems levels.
