As a Programmer Analyst II in the Library, Kenny has been the leader for the development of Occam's Reader, the first library developed system that allows for the lending of electronic books via Inter-library Loan. This is a fundamental shift in the way libraries around the country are able to share resources back and forth. Through his designs, he has influenced the faculty, staff and student experiences of over 35 national universities in 18 states. The website Occam's Reader.org has been visited over 2 million times in the last year. He has published four academic articles and one book chapter on this project and continues to write more. He has been the keynote or invited speaker at eight national library events because of his work. Occam's Reader was also featured in the Chronicle of Higher Education. He has had a dramatic impact not only with the Texas Tech family but also on a national scale.
