As a Lead Specialist in the Operations Division Martha Ritz has worked countless 10 – 12 hour days to conduct research and/or process last minute requests to ensure the department was capable of providing uninterrupted services of steam, chill water, reverse-osmosis water and compressed air to the University. These services are critical to valuable research, irreplaceable artifacts, and the life and safety of hospital patients, students and employees including the main campus, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the Museum of Texas Tech University and the Fiber and Biopolymer Research Institute. During her tenure she has acquired dozens of new vendor discounts and she has developed and maintained over 80 blanket purchase orders for a department. Establishing these blanket orders ensures quality products for the "best value" to the University, allows for easier purchasing from reliable sources, saves time and avoids delays. In addition, Martha was a driving force to implement electronic invoicing within the Operations Division. This change saved thousands of work-hours, an unknown amount of paper, and expedited the receiving and payment process from being completed in several days to being completed, at times, within minutes.
