As the Department Business Manager of Personal Financial Planning, Rebecca Velez is critical to the success of the department and fully supports its goals and culture. Examples of Rebecca's impact include the department being able to support a record number of graduate students through assistantships, classrooms and scheduling being done in a manner that facilitates students graduating on time, faculty having the equipment they need to be productive educators and researchers, and both students and faculty being able to travel to conferences. It is not unusual for Rebecca to offer to take a graduate student to the doctor during her lunch hour or give a student a ride after work. This encourages other staff to act in similar manners. Through her leadership, the faculty, staff and students think of our department as a second family. Rebecca's work is definitely making a positive impact on faculty, staff and student success.
