By helping to increase the success of submitted research proposals within the College of Arts and Sciences, Brendan Allison is helping to enhance the total research capacity and proposal success for all of Texas Tech University. Over the past two years, Brendan has helped refine and enhance the quality of forty-eight submitted grant proposals resulting in successful funding of proposals awarded a total of $1,460,261 with more to come. Moreover, he has implemented a series of training sessions on “successful grant writing” that has allowed greater success in writing for dissertation improvement grants from the National Science Foundation and other federal agencies and foundation sources. He built a series of grant writing short courses that are available on-line for graduate students, post-docs and junior faculty. These short courses are the first to be developed by a college at Texas Tech to assist in proposal development to enhance submission success. Brendan is making significant contributions to Texas Tech through these efforts.
