Program Manager
Honors College

Cheyenne Belew is one of those colleagues upon whom you can count, from whom you seek advice, to whom you go to troubleshoot. She is the person who offers to step in and to help when someone is struggling, overloaded or overwhelmed.  She is the person who is not afraid to speak up and voice her opinion because she expects you to do the same.  Cheyenne has become a vital part of our community. She began her work in the college as a member of the award-winning Advising Team, but she soon moved into the work of directing and managing the Admissions Team because of her dedication to excellence, her commitment to helping students, and her understanding of the difficult work of finding us the next class of Honors College students. Under her direction, the Honors College enrollments have increased over 60% in the past five years, retention is at an all-time high, and 85% of our students graduate in 4 years. Cheyenne does more than just advise, more than just directs, more than just organizes, she mentors, she listens, she provides a sense of home for our students who need the sense of community and belonging.  But perhaps most of all, Cheyenne is a giving, present, and thoughtful colleague who understands that the work of a faculty and staff at a university extends beyond the four walls of a classroom.  She models for us all the possibilities of the educative work of a university.
