Wendoli Flores is one of the most committed, innovative, inventive, rigorous directors we have ever had the pleasure to know and with whom we have had the privilege of teaching in our years at Texas Tech. In her many years at Texas Tech, Wendoli has dedicated her career to helping faculty, students, and staff members achieve excellence and expand the reach and reputation of Texas Tech University.  Whatever our community needs, in whatever capacity, however they need her help or assistance or mentoring or support, she is there. Whether they are in the arts or humanities or in the STEM areas, Wendoli, through mentoring students in the process of writing essays, research proposals, requesting letters of recommendation, and preparing for intensive interviews, is helping our Texas Tech students to hone the fundamental tools that they will need as they go on to careers in teaching, the law, engineering, scientific research, medicine, politics, writing, scholarship, and so much more.  She takes the time to learn every student to better understand how to improve their candidacy and help them to tell their stories.  And in so doing, she is ascertaining how to best guide and mentor them not just in the scholarship and fellowship process, but in their future paths and intentions.
