Distinguished Staff Awards 2023: Kerri Pike Teaching Learning and Professional Development CenterKerri Pike
Business Manager
Teaching Learning and Professional Development Center

Kerri is the co-chair for the New Faculty Orientation process. Her attention to detail, organization and institutional knowledge of this process are keys to its success. Kerri works with our newest faculty colleagues to ensure they receive needed information electronically long before they set foot on campus and, when they do, her work to get them successfully onboarded helps them to feel at ease and at home. Kerri's support to our center and to many other units on campus that we partner with is unparalleled. Kerri's efforts were key to the success of the undergraduate Learning Assistant program. While onboarding more than 150 Learning Assistants, Kerri identified processes and documentation that have enhanced our partnership with Accounting Services and Human Resources. Colleagues have praised her detailed work and noted that she has been instrumental in creating documentation to serve as a model for other areas, particularly those working within the parameters of Institutional Enhancement funding. Another example of her beyond efforts was Kerri's collaboration with the Jerry S. Rawls Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award selection committee. She took the lead and helped the selection committee design a web portal making it possible for committee members to fairly and conveniently review applications. Her efforts made essential committee work possible and her thoughtful creation of the portal will assist applicants and selection committees for years to come. Our team trusts Kerri's judgment and values her many contributions. We are certainly better with this amazing staff member on our team.
