Misty has been a leader for our Payroll & Tax Services team for over a decade and has been instrumental to the success of our department. She has participated and led projects that have streamlined manual processes into automated processes. Misty was selected to serve on the team responsible for re-writing the employee one-time payment system. When problems arise on this platform, Misty assists to identify enhancements needed to fix those issues and in return, employees are paid in a timely manner. Another one of Misty's accomplishments is the Manual Leave Adjustment application. Payroll & Tax Services, along with the IS Team, developed and introduced this automated application which has been a huge success. Employees or departments are no longer required to manually submit a paper form for leave adjustments. The automated process not only allows employees and departments to submit these adjustments electronically, they can also go back and reference the forms within the application, and verify that the adjustment has been applied which has been a huge timesaver for everyone. In addition, Misty has taken on the challenging task of learning the Texas Retirement System process. TRS made several changes to their reporting requirements, and Misty has done a fantastic job making sure we are in compliance. Many universities are struggling to meet these new deadlines, but Misty has ensured we never miss a payment deadline. She is a highly valued member of our team.
